There are some worries from people who have been customers of the online shopping site Zappos that their personal information might come under attack because of the information that was released regarding a security breach that occurred in one of the server farms run by the company. The location of the breach was in Kentucky and the company made the announcement recently although it suggested that there were no account numbers or credit cards involved in the security breach and that financial data was safe.
It has become unfortunately common for identity theft to hit various company data centers and for anyone who is looking to ensure that they are not otherwise going to have problems with their credit cards being stolen and end up having to get credit cards for bad credit, the chief executive officer of the company said that no financial information was compromised so people shouldn’t need to get worried regarding whether they might get back the next day from the grocery store and find that their entire bank account has been drained or they’ve been signed up for a half dozen new credit cards.
The chief executive officer of the company suggested that a lot of work had gone into ensuring the safety of customer data and that the company wanted to make sure that customers felt safe. Some have suggested that although the hack was bad, it could have been much worse since an actual breach of credit card data might have been disastrous for keeping the company online.
